remote roof opening

Hi, can anyone tell me if opening the roof remotely with your key is a standard fitting or is it an extra? Or is it just mine not working due to sensor or something. Thanks

If I remember correctly, holding the key near the door handle and pressing and holding unlock, should open all the windows and sun roof. I am unsure whether the key can be programmed to open just one window or sun roof.

Sorry Benzowner I should of stated its a soft-top the manual says it's possible but like I said its not working with mine.

If your door handle has the little IR sensor, then the process is normally to go to the car when it's locked, point & hold they key very close to that sensor then press & hold the unlock button - the door will unlock per normal, then the roof will retract. You do need to be close though

Got CLK 208 and mine doesn't work either. I'd be interested to know what the fix is though. Used to like standing across the road from my old Astra twintop and either opening or closing roof through full procedure. Obviously on my CLK i can't do that as it needs to be unhooked first and last but the windows on mine don't go down when key button held, as is described on owner manual.

Buy a Smarttop. This little box will allow you to open and close the roof with the remote.
