CL500
I have a '05 CL500 and the two remotes have started to act up intermittently. Sometimes working sometimes not. Both the "Press the button on the remote" and the keyless entry are effected. I changed the battery in both but no improvement. It has just let me down completely and I had to use the physical key to open the door. The keyless start is also effected.

Any suggestions?
Where is the receiver in the CL500? We've had a lot of rain recently and perhaps it's had an unplanned bath...

Test your car alarm and check fuses.

Thanks for the response Dec.
Alarm did activate when I manually opened the door. Is that what you mean?
I'll need to wait until I get back to Dublin to check fuses. Car is sitting in the airport

Could a fuse result in intermittent behaviors?

Yes, opening a door manually, while the alarm is armed should indeed set it off so it would seem to be working ok if it sounded the siren and flashed the hazard lights. Some times the alarm fuse is associated or shares with the receiver that pick up the remote fob signal and car radio signal.

Is the radio receiving ok?

Try holding the remote fob very close… an inch… to the receiver on the door handle to see if that makes any difference.
