Hi All

I hope someone can help............

I need to get tho the wiper linkage of my W203 2004 coupe. I have removed the plastic fixings but the plastic cover trim at the bottom of the windscreen refuses to budge. I dont want to be too heavy handed in case it is bonded to the windscreen.

Is it easily removable?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike

Thank you for your reply.

I have the haynes manual & done everything as described but the splash cove doesn`t budge from the lower of the windscreen. Its as if there may be other fixings which can`t be seen. Sounds easy according to the manual..

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Ahhhhhh. Scratches head???

Is it possible to lift the bottom, or top edge slightly and run something like a steel ruler up behind and along it to see if you can feel any retaining clips?
I see in picture 14.b it says "and unclip the trim panel" which would suggest that there are either push in clips on the back of it, or it lips over something at the top.
Have you tried pulling the bottom forwards to clear the wiper splines and sliding it upwards, towards the screen, or downwards towards the engine?

You can probably tell I'm just guessing here.

I'm sure someone else has done this to get at the wiper motor because the wipers weren't doing a full sweep, but can't remember who it was, or if they posted any instructions. I'll have a quick search.

Thanks for your reply and help.

I will try what you suggest this weekend - why is nothing easy? Now theres a thought for a general post!

Here's a link to the Russian website where the above diagram is taken from Ìîäåëü Enter your VIN number and click on search (just to the right of where you enter the VIN. Then scroll down and ckick on #83: Heating & Ventilation - then #110: Water Baffle With Intake Shell and you can then view the part descriptions as well as the diagram.
Still not a lot wiser though.

Thanks Mike

The diagram is really useful & the link I have saved in my favourites.

Cheers!
