Is this something EuroCarParts get involved with, and if so, how much are they?

John, i would worry only if you need to at the time, custom exhaust with high flo cats is an option. hayward and scott are a place i have used before.

I was conscious I might have to do something about it but since this post I saw someone posted the MOT Testers thing which said the first 3 months of next year would be advisory - which really would give me until 2013 to sort it out.

However, I still haven't fully ruled out changing the mufflers (and adding CATs back in at the same time / or empty CATs etc.).

I understand used CATs are going to be tricky to source - and I would have kept them had I done the CAT removal but I bought it as is.

I'm interested to see what CATs cost though.

Mine is insured with a non-standard exhaust already so I don't need to do anything there.

My biggest problem is I am incredibly fussy about the sound I want. I don't want deafening and nor do I want rice rocket / boy racer hot hatch.

I want more audible than standard / meaty V8 whiner / mixed with a dash of restraint.

:D

Renntech seems to be the closest...

Race cats will probably be cheaper.

Hmm, I have emissions problems at my MOT on my C32 at the moment. MB are quoting £1700 PER SIDE for the OEM C32 cat Different to the C320 aparantly.
So, who do I see for custom pipework, that'll still see me through an MOT? Ideally I still like to keep the AMG tailpipe. ..

Custom pipework with deleted cats will be an MOT fail come April next year.

Your better off talking to someone like Alps recommended above and / or racing CATs maybe?

I have no idea how expensive racing CATs are but given that price, I can't imagine they are cheap.

ebay cats

thought of you when i saw these

Cheers!

Mine passed the MOT as it was an no mention of CATs missing.

However, I am not sure what will happen next year...
