Replacement star and distronic query.

I am looking at swapping the grill star for an led one. Will this affect the distronic/cruise control safety of the car. I have a 2018 GLC Coupe and I’m not sure if any sensors are in the original star or not. Thanks in advance.

Well good taste or not, you will have to pick what you want more as you cannot have both.
The illuminated star is not suitable for cars with Distronic.

Right, I’ve compared my CC stalk to that in the manual and it appears I don’t have the distronic function that lets the driver set the distance from the vehicle in front, just the regular CC. Does anyone know if there are any electronics etc. relating to this in the star in the grille that would prevent me swapping it? I’ll be keeping the original if I swap it out just for mind change possibility and future resale. You wouldn’t think I’d had this car 2 1/2 years from new

If you look carefully at your star from both sides you'll probably find it's just another bit of plastic trim.
