I have a 2015 Sprinter van with manual mirrors. Would like to fit electric/heated mirrors will there be any wiring in the loom or is it a start from scratch job?

Generally speaking MB do not fit wires/looms for equipment not fitted at manufacture.
You will have to find the looms and controllers and then probably get some coding done to tell the van they are fitted

Hi Thanks for that. If there are no provisions in the existing loom am I correct that with a suitable feed from the ignition switch the proposed mirrors can be connected to this, if so why would it be necessary to get some coding work?

Because there will be a control module required, if you are fitting MB mirrors.

Hi
Early cars eg pre 2000ish they were simply wired through the Fuse/adjustment switch/mirrors, cars since then the mirrors are wired via door control modules (DCM) and as the DCMs and the mirror adjustment switch are on the CAN Bus.
If you're van has a DCM in the door then new mirrors would/should just plug in as long as the right DCM is installed, the switch maybe more difficult, when I installed my distronic switch on my CLS I just installed it into my lower console switch pack and the existing wiring took care of connecting it to the cars CAN Bus, so switch installation maybe problematic depending on where the OEM location is and where it plugs into the CAN Bus.
If it is in the door then you maybe in luck as it may just plug straight into the DCM.
At 2015 then whatever/however way it is wired, then it will need to coded which at that age will require connecting to an OEM online STAR machine normally only available at the dealer, though in Southampton you have access to some very good independents that are so equipped, and I have only heard good things regarding the Mercedes Commercial dealer in Southampton.
