Hope in right place
Had injector repaired (N05) took a lot of getting out !!
Now have a oil leak running down back of engine Garage say it is coming out of the pipe at back of rocker cover wasn't there before injector was repaired Need another rocker cover its an ML270 on 52 plate anyone have one please

Why do you think you need another rocker cover? Where's the leak coming from? The rocker cover gasket? Or the pipe Union into the rocker cover? Both can be sealed unless the guy that done the injector " knows" he's damaged /cracked something, then it's his fault!
Alloy can be welded, stripped threads can be helicoiled, don't give up,think easy/cheapest option first, and work up,second hand parts ok but what's wrong with your original part? How did the "damage " happen?if you didn't do it why should you pay for the repair?
Sometimes working on cars things lead to other dramas the mechanics should make you aware of the possibility of extra cost/problems.
My thought would be has the injector issue been sorted or is that leak from a damaged injector thread/seal? clean the engine with degreaser and Rev it,puff talc around the suspect area to highlight the exact cause of your problem,
I don't know the layout of your motor but why would the rocker cover have to be disturbed to replace a lnjector ?

So is it leaking from the union on pipe number 50 in the above pts dia? That looks like two O rings need replaced?
Or pt number 35 rocker gasket, should be another easy fix?
Or is this burried under the bulkhead/firewall,IE nightmare?
I wouldn't return a job back to a customer with oil leaks if I was working on that part of the engine,

Could be several things- since there are no O rings specified in the parts diagram I would doubt there are any? More likely to be just a push fit plastic serrated "tail" connector. Problem with these is they can go brittle and break off inside the cover . The camshaft cover gasket could be leaking if torqued down incorrectly or not renewed. A visual process of elimination by cleanup and and talc as suggested may help track it down.

Hi Sorry only just seen this The rocker cover was cracked by the garage He will not take responsibility for it said tough (want your money back take me to court) The crack is right by the side of injector no 5 were he worked it is about 2/3 inches long booked into another garage for next Wednesday to see what he has done we have argued over bill but he don't care so it seems I am off to the small claims court will keep updated as to what happens thank you for your time

You might manage to pickup one second hand part no appears to be A6120100430
but check against your chassis number or the embossed part no on the part itself.
it will look something like this [ not the same number as yours but visual example of type ]

Quick up date
Truck still at garage (all be it a new garage diesel specialists this time ) Bought second hand part off e bay Took it to the garage they cleaned it up to put on and WOW the part had a hole by injector no 3 the size of a 10p !! they had filled it and covered it over to sell it !! ( this is now in the hands of paypal )
So bite the bullet and went to Merc main dealer in Cardiff the new part was only £201 including the vat !!!! so new rocker cover on way here Friday and then hopefully back on the road Thank you for all the help

Bad luck with the ebay part .But if you opened a case ,then you will get you payment refunded in full. But dont leave it to long .Click on i need to return my item under contact seller .Then fill in the form .Ask for return lable , then post it off .And with bar code tracking number just put that in the list .Refund next day by ebay .

You need to give the ebay seller a chance, if they are a breakers yard, it may well be they have just removed the item from a vehicle and sent it to you without checking, it may have been bodged by the owner of the car in the past. They will still refund. Of course, it could have been as you have suggested, if that is the case, then you need to leave feedback to warn others.
I find that there is only a very small % of dodgy sellers on e bay, always check the feedback before buying, its all you can do.

Luckily all done through paypal We have sent them photos of my car still in the garage the receipt for the new rocker cover photos of his rocker cover and pics of my rocker cover He has 5 days to return my money or paypal will return it as they have decided the claim in our favour thankfully He had good feed back too !!
