Hi everyone,

Picked up a puncture yesterday and got the message that the tyre pressure was an issue. Had the puncture repaired and have a message on the dash saying "Check tyres, then restart Run Flat Indicator"

I know I don't have Run Flats and have tried scrolling through the menus and can't find an option to reset....

I have consulted the manual which basically says scroll through and reset but nothing else.

Any ideas?:dk:

Thanks in advance

Steve

you don't have runflats, it's just asking you to reset the "datum" / system..
I think you press the up down arrows when the message is displayed.. or maybe the + -
It's definitely in the manual though. Just reset it and away you go!

Wish it was that easy!

I have been through every menu option and pressed every button to no avail.....

Every time I start up the car I get the message 'Check tyres, restart Run Flat indicator'

When I scroll through the menus I find that the message is located in a sub section called 'Messages' and no matter what I click on nothing allows me to delete the message.

I did however find in the sub menu where you get the temperature a message that says the following....

I tried clicking all the buttons on the steering wheel and nothing changes...

I am being honest when I say the manual is really not clear on what to do so if anyone knows please help me as the message is driving me mad:doh:

From that menu press the trip reset button ;)

I have an issue with mine on my E320 CDI. I reset the indicator a while ago when asked to.

Yesterday I checked my tyre pressures at petrol station to find that one front tyre was showing 25psi (instead of 29).

My question is why didn't the warning flash up??

It is not a tyre pressure monitoring system.
It only alerts if there is a major difference in the tyre pressures - at a guess around 50%.
You could test this by letting a lot of the air out of one of the tyres.

I am not sure which type of TPMS you have - there is a basic one which simply relies on differences in wheel rotation speed (based on input from the ABS wheel sensors), and the 'proper' one which actually has four RF pressure monitors I.e. built into each valve.

The basic one is meant to be used with Run Flat tyres, and will only alert you if one wheel is either completely flat or very low on pressure compared to the others, but it does not actually know what the tyre pressures are.

The 'proper' TPMS should have alerted you though.
