Got this '95 reg 124 220ce which seems happy to run round the place at a temperature of 60 degrees. Have rarely seen it go above, just the odd occasion to rise to 80 degrees. The fan heater in the car works for hot air, yet all the same when set at 26 degrees does not seem to be anything like the suggested temp. Would like some info, suggestions etc. Please if you could help!!

Anywhere between 80-90 degrees is fine. Replace the thermostat and the temperature will get back to normal. Easy DIY job for around £40.

Definitely the thermostat. Same thing happened to mine.

Good advice easy and cheap fix

I agree with the above, replace the thermostat, normal temp is just above the 80 you will see better fuel consumption aswell.:)

Thanks for the reply to my question Boyracer, I'll get to work on that as soon as is.
