S Class 600 SEL

Blimey these guys have got loads of imported S600L's, and a few SL's too !

S600 is probably a liability. They will find it hard to get rid of them, and the SL's in this day & age...Old complex V12 car + petrol prices= not really worth it!

looked at these guys website for an E500 recently - my guess is these are still in Japan (buildings in background certainly look Japanese).

did i read soemwhere that the Japanese lked their imported cars LHD as status symbols? If so why bring such behemoths to the UK? I dont understand the logic

Yes, most, if not all of the cars are still in Japan...Possibly when they are purchased here they ship them over to order.

I looked at some of the sl500's on the website-they looked tatty. if some of that leather had only done 74K (for example) I think the cars must have been piloted by sumo wrestlers and not your archetypal svelte Japanese person- the seats looked knackered!

Yeah...clocking those cars is not uncommon is Japan...some of the cars will come with part or no paperwork...so whos going to check the mileage for sure??

I'd be interested in sourcing a genuine low mile E500 or E60 AMG from Japan...they are more common than here and look cleaner than those US ones.

Some of them are ex-USA cars, imported into Japan as LHD is a status symbol over there. Now they import them here, I agree it makes no sense at all !

Anyone know who sells those screen mounts on the dash in the ebay photo?

What's with the Mercedes Towel/Bath mat? AND it's a good job the badge has been stuck on the dash to remind you what you're driving....41k miles. Yes of course it is.

For those that know my E55, they will know how apt my numberplate would be for an S600 SEL (especially as it's a 5.9;) ).
I was once offered silly money for it, but it's non transferable due to the last owner:mad:
