S Class Saloon W126 Tail Lights - Clear

i am new to the forum.

got a 1992 500SE and looking for the following:
a) a pair of clear tail lights
b) clear indicator lights (front)

If it's a 1992, surely it is a W140?

A W126 would look less elegant with those mods IMHO.

I am based in South Africa and the car was registered Jan 1992. Its my dads car i have inherited.

the w126 was still produced in 1992 .and the w140 started 1991 so it could be either.
I got my rear lights from germany a couple of years ago but the front ones are available from euro car parts.

wouldnt think you will have a euro car parts down your way then you may be as well looking on ebay.
any pics and we can clarify a w126 or w140

Sorry, missed that, production in Europe of the W126 stopped in 1991, sales ended in 1992, but it seems the W126 continued to be produced in SA for a few years after that.

Hi N8384,
I got mine from ebay - for about £15! I wasn't expecting them to be good quality but I have to say that they are very good! and I had them fitted in about 10 minutes.
Just for the record-I also have a 1992 w126! and I know of a guy who has a 1993! It might be that they were left unsold in some dealers until the price was dropped enough for them to be a bargain!

No they havent, im slightly annoyed as the first set i ordered from germany never arrived and now these havent either. She quoted 5-6 working days and today is the 6th.

I have opened a paypal dispute as she has not provided me with the tracking number i asked for.

Just an update for you - I had to file a paypal dispute which put a rocket up her backside.. she has now provided a UPS tracking number and they should be here 29th May.

Im not entirely sure that im going to use them anyway and i already got a set of front indicators locally so the ones from canada will be spare.

if you want you can have the front set off me at cost price.

As for the rears im going to fit them and see if i like them, if not they will be available too..

Thanks Jay, I was considering clear front indicator lenses for my silver W126 500SE (K-reg Aug.1992 and just 185000miles...when do these things stop going??) I won't trouble this woman for them!
