S Class without aircon?

Someone told me today that it was possible to get an S-class (W140) without aircon. I thought it was standard - any ideas ?

The first ones were available without it. They had a siilar heatind dial system as a W124!

I've seen one with cloth manual seats with no aircon and plastic hub caps
