S211 - Boot Leak

Ahoy Mighty Merc Enthusiasts!

My trusty steed has sprung a leak from her rear! IN an effort to find the source of said leak I have stripped her bottom end down by removing the seats, trim and rear carpet. Under the spare there was about 1mm of water. There isn't anything obvious apart from on the rear quarter, above the battery, this vent type contraption seems to be allowing water in. Is this something I can replace or is it indicative of another problem? Out of curiosity, what is it called?





Any suggestions appreciated.

The rubber membrain inside the air circulation box , could be stuck, you need to remove the rear bumper to look at it .Might just need taking out and resealing .Easy once the bumper is down
