S212 E63 - Boot closure using button or keyfob?

I've read up and found mixed statements of this being a thing.
I can only open the boot with the button in the drivers door and full closure on the keyfob closes everything... but the boot.

It has the mechanism as can close from bootlid buttons and the wavey foot thingy that is always too dirty to work

So, is it possible to get this working?

Certainly the saloon doesn’t allow remote boot closing, so I suspect the estate won't either. My guess is that it’s a safety feature, in order to minimise the chance of trapping something / someone in the closing lid.

I can close the tailgate of my 2015 212 with the button on the drivers door, not with the keyfob

I can close my boot with the remote key. Just a continuous press until it shuts.

Have you tried a continuous press, my saloon it wont work with just 1 press, like you do for locking and unlocking the car.

Yep I tried for 10 seconds, nothing.
Seems it's different for everyone

I have an estate w213 and the button on the remote and inside the drivers pocket only throw the latch, however the boot lid does not lift. When I use the manual opening latch next to the reverse camera the boot opens as it should, automatically. I've searched so many posts on this but no-one can answer what the issue might be, hoping someone here can shed some light on this. Yes I've changed the batteries in the remote!

Same with my 2010.

I can open it with the fob, the driver's door switch or the boot handle.

But only close with the driver's door switch or the boot switch.
