I have just bought a 2018 C350e estate - lovely car, I'm very pleased with it. However, the boot opening button on the keys and inside the driver's door don't do anything. I can only open the boot using the catch on the boot lid. The "close boot" button on the boot lid works fine. I reported this as a fault to the warranty company and they booked me into MB Brentford where the car has been for 3 days now.
I had a phone conversation with the mechanic this afternoon who said they had been unable to detect any wiring or electronic faults. He then suggested that perhaps it wasn't an installed option on my car. I was a bit surprised by this on 2 counts: 1) why then is there a button inside the driver's door? Usually buttons are replaced by blanks for options that are not fitted, and 2) how come they are not able to know for a fact that this might be an unfitted option? They are the experts after all, and I would have thought that they would have access to factory option information on every car that rolls off the production line.
Does anyone know if this function is an optional extra?
