Hi,

I'm looking to buy a used S320CDI -2000/2001.

Could anyone confirm what the standard spec was in those years?

I have been told that COMMAND was added as standard in 2001 - is that correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trading in my Dec 2000 CDI (2001 MY) tomorrow and it definitely doesn't have COMAND. AFIK, when they did the facelift model, they included COMAND as standard then. Be aware that until the facelift model, it is likely that the COMAND that is fitted is a Blaupunkt one and that doesn't support DVD format. AFIK, the facelift model was from Sept 02 but don't quote me on that.

The current DVD spec Comand was first released in the W211 E-Class and filtered to other models afterwards - although the W211 was released last quarter 2002, the DVD Comand wasn't available until Feb/March 2003. This system is the current top spec, software/hardware upgrades have enabled MP3, bluetooth since first release.

This link lists in some detail Model/Comand fitment, although USA biased should be some use.
