As some of you may have read, my C63 has a few pre delivery issues to resolve. I was lent this -

Approved Used 2011 MERCEDES-BENZ S63 Limousine AMG in Chelsea for sale

£124k new, up for ex demo at £105k. Now has 6200 miles on the clock.

Pictures:

A few words.

Firstly, I am glad to be handing this back and waiting 2 weeks to get into my car. Although I accept they are of a different class and one more than double the price of the other, it would be difficult to not feel like a backward step in quality after sitting in this thing of beauty.

Quality and fit first rate. Space amazing. More toys than I got to enjoy. Night vision particularly impressive.

Performance

A bit odd - it has 550 odd break etc but the progress is very serene. Engine sounds awesome at pulling off and slow speeds but insulation such that at motorway slip road and above it is just quietly threatening. Like a stealth bomber. Speed is achieved far too quickly to enjoy it in something that big and heavy - unnerving the word.

Styling

I think it is a handsome car and I like the gold flake in this type of black. Lots of attention given to it by pedestrians.

Overall it was hugely comfortable on a 300 mile round trip and I lament that I cannot afford it! Personally I wouldn't have it with a beige steering wheel though!

I absolutely agree with your “in fact” description..........:thumb:

Before I decided on the C63, I test drove the new E63 BiTurbo with The AMG Performance Pack. This too had intense power but, felt too refined to be a car that I would go out and buy. By no means get me wrong, this was a car with an absolute brutal power delivery.........The C63 AMG ticked all the right boxes for me!

Just completed a five hour detailing session.......Looks awesome........;)

The C classes are great fun to drive in a way the larger cars cannot be, but they won't cosset like the S. depends what you want I guess.

Now spend five hours driving it, no good detailing and no driving

Didn't even know they made a S63!

pictures pleaseeeee or it didn't happen!! :D:bannana:

Will have to be tomorrow Dr. Thought about your prescription whilst detailing (thanks again).

Used a new tyre dressing (chemical guys) must have put too much on, as after a three hour blast (I know ***, not quite five.....;)), only to find most of the dressing was up the sides of my gleaming C63........

Will post tomorrow after a bit of a polish-up..........:p

Best looking current Merc IMO...!

The W222 will need to be special to top that!

Shine tyres and then wipe off excess.

Nought wrong with a fast S Class.

The world moves backwards at an alarming rate when you hit the loud pedal yet the double glazing protects your sensitive ears.

Others may race into the horizon with crashing, banging, popping, wheezing, whoosing and screeching but an S Class just takes you there at a rate difficult to appreciate in grace and comfort.

There is no road equal to a fast S Class.

Yes to all of the above. :thumb:

AMG don't seem to do wood & leather steering wheels, i changed my CL to a Walnut & leather wheel and i have a Piano Black & leather wheel on the S-Class. They look much better.

Until you hit a tight bendy road but for all other things aye

You then drive at an appropriate speed.

It might surprise you just how quickly the S500 can take a bend when it is unleashed into one with venom. Remember, it's got a wide track, wide rubber and trick suspension to keep it as flat as possible.

It's no ditchfinder.
