Thank you for the warning. What makes you be think it’s a scam?

Hi Bobby Dazzler ,

Two reasons , I have received numerous messages regarding my Mercedes me app from Mercedes and this message was totally different.

It was a link that read something like this ( made this link up )

hhpt:/65c\a.4.mb?63k!

Mercedes service manager at my local dealership thought it was a scam.

I received an email from them on 29 July making me aware of changes to the service and T&Cs at the end of August. Looks legitimate but may be a different email entirely to the one you received.

Hi , I received that email and that is what made me really suspect the message.

Just the other day I received an official looking email which looked like it was from MB reminding me that my C55 was due an MOT . It is ....in 6 months time. My car has not been any where near an MB dealership for years and the only official contact I received from them was a letter for the sunroof safety re call.

I just binned it thinking it was some kind of automatic bot with a long memory . My car was delivered in August 2006 so maybe the algorithm says it must be due in August 16 years later.

Paying no attention to the existence of SORN 🤷‍♂️

yesterday my phone started ringing at the exact time my wife's did... same incoming number 01808 400018 on both phones.. our phone numbers are two digits apart... Samsung pinged it immediately as potential fraud...

to quote facejacker " speak to the Russians!"

Hi , I have been thinking about the scam and the following worries me.

How did they know my car had Mercedes me ( suppose all Mercedes potentially have Mercedes me fitted ) plus how the did they get hold of my mobile phone number !

I am aware that it the scam is a numbers game but still very strange.

phishing... random numbers... same message to all....someone will bite... its how these lowlife operate

We had exactly the same thing a couple of nights ago: the dialler was obviously hitting O2 numbers that evening. Mrs Spiky's iPhone just displayed the number, whilst my
Samsung did its thing with Smart Call; although as neither of us know anyone in Tomatin (Highland Region- 01808 area code) it was unlikely we were going to answer it anyway.
