It's that time of year and Sports Cars In The Park have again confirmed their first meet this year will be held at Newby Hall which is near Ripon. All details in the link.

Last May's event at Newby Hall was pretty poorly organised, with up to 5 miles of queueing and access to the site taking up to 2 hours at one stage, though apparently this has been acknowledged by the organisers and a re-designed system put in place. I would suggest it's still advisable to arrive a bit early to miss the inevitable build up of traffic with up to 1,500 cars trying get through one entry gate.

As usual, tickets must be booked and paid for in advance or you won't get entry to the main grounds. Use the group "MBClub.co.uk" if possible when booking as it will hopefully keep us all together in the same area. Having said that, the organisers tend to just group us all under the German banner unless there are loads of us, so we should all end up together.

I'm not 100% sure I'll be attending as yet but I'll certainly be trying for it. If I do get there, I'll probably be in the old truck, saving the Mercedes for Horndean the week after.

Just a quick bump as this event is now only around a month away.

I'm definitely attending now, I wasn't sure when I wrote the OP but, after thinking about it, thought it was about time I got myself mobile after a long, cold and boring winter. I'll be the one in the old Ford pickup, nestling amongst the German stuff.

Hope to see a few there. :)

I might be up for this, are you staying over @daveenty?
I'll be travelling across on the Sunday morning as it's only just over an hour away from home for me, even in the truck. :)

I will however be staying HERE on the Sunday evening, mainly just to break it up a bit. It's also a Bank Holiday on the Monday so the traffic may be easier for me going home.

Ticket booked, now to book the hotel.

Hotels booked, looking forward to this

I was looking forward to it but may have to go in the Merc now as the tail and brake lights have packed in on my old truck. I could probably make it without tail lights but brake lights are a bit more important as I don't particularly want a couple of tons of following car in the pick up bed.

I've had a quick look at the wring myself but it's in a real mess, with two harnesses going through to the rear and lots of redundant spurs so I'll be trying to find an auto spark next week. I'm not holding out too many hopes at the moment as my usual one only seems to be working part time now and it's pretty challenging trying to get hold of him.

Just something else to frustrate me I suppose...

I still need to book my bloody tickets.. I’ve been busy right up to my neck so far this year!

I think we’ll definitely be going, however, this time in the E24 ...!! :thumb:

Get them done, they've probably got a few left but may sell out depending on the weather I suppose?

What's not to like about a 6 series. :) You should still be parking near the rest of us as for the last few times they've just been parking us as country specific and not marque. Hope you've still got the E55?

Look for my old pickup, I'll also be parked with the Germans (don't ask) and should be somewhere near it.

I now have the brake lights working so should be good to go. Still no tail lights yet but hopefully soon...

E55 is still in the fleet & going strong, Dave. Hope you’ve been well!

Just booked our tickets, looking forward to it and hoping to see you there 👍🏽.. catchup is well overdue.

I’m sure there’ll park us together - there’s that German corner isn’t there.. I think we’ll be with the BMW car club - who are with the German corner anyway right??
