When I load an SD card into the slot on my recently acquired 2012 W221 S Class, I just get the message 'No playable files'. I've copied CDs to the card in mp3 format, so I know for definite there is music on the card. Am I missing something? 🤔

Card probably needs to be formatted FAT32 for MB's antiquated system to read it!
I don't have any problems with the micro sim in my MB ( 2014 E class W212 ), and in the centre console there is USB port, which will also play music files. Then in the same console, there is another socket, which seems to be specific for mobile phones. So now I have A= CD player. B= Micro Card reader C= USB connection, and finally ( that I know of,,, ) a mobile phone specific connection. Seems a bit of overkill,,,or have I wrongly identified these?

The sd card slot could just be for navigation card if you have audio 20.

Glad to have been of help Dave - for me on an MB forum that's a bit of a novelty as my toy for 20+ years was a FE Porsche, I've only had the SLK since November last, have had the S204 somewhat longer but don't play with things the way I used to on my Porsches when I was younger and fitter!
