Seller said number plates are genuine?

From previous thread about number plates the seller wrote back this:

Please stop making assumptions. The BS mark does not need to be in the middle at all. Legislation is very clear on requirements. Can you send some evidence or documentation that outlaws positioning in the corner as if this was the case close to half of plates on the road right now would be illegal.
