Service & MOT in Liverpool

After 5 years of driving company car and having company look after service etc, have recently purchased 2008 c class. I am looking to put it in for annual full service and I'm looking for an Independent in Liverpool. Was considering using MB Liverpool opposite Inchcape, has anybody had any dealings and is there anybody else that you would recommend. Live in Liverpool, however travel to Cheshire Oaks a couple of times a week for work

Where has the car been serviced up till now? If it was in an MB dealer then be aware that using an indie means the Mobilo cover will stop (which you may or may not be bothered about).

Also, if this is the car's 4th service then it'll be a chunky one, depending on whether mileage/age related stuff has already been done or not. You can check out what's required here: Mercedes-Benz ESS

I use Inchcape Chester and find them OK. Agree what needs doing beforehand and get them to agree a price. It's a bit of a palaver but if you just pay "rack" prices it'll cost a fortune. They do the MOT cheap too and give a guarantee against future failure.

I've looked at various indies around - you see good and bad about them all. I think you need a certain mind-set to use an indie and, apart from sometimes using our village garage for MOTs I've tended to always use franchise dealers but have usually had fairly new (or company) cars.

Highly recommend Andy at AutoBarn at Ledsham on the Wirral. Indie, formerly with Mercedes for 15 years before going independent some years ago. 0151 347 9999, CH66 9PA. Looks after all manner of Mercedes. Always very busy.

when I had my friday afternoon 2001 W203, I used a chap in Maghull. He seemed pretty capable - and did a few jobs for me at a decent price, within the timeframe he said. I think he was called the mercedes centre - it was 4 years ago, no idea if he is still there

The only problem being there is very little to do in the sefton lane industrial estate, apart from visit the garden centre across the road

When I lived in Crosby, I always used S&R at Formby. I'd recommend them to anyone and wouldn't go anywhere else if I lived in the area. I appreciate Formby may be a little out of your way, though.

I have had a 10 plate BMW Z4 and a 10 plate Audi TT serviced at Maghull Tyres & Exhausts. Both first services were considerably cheaper than BMW and Audi dealerships in Liverpool and genuine manufacturer parts were used.
I would never take my cars to a garage I was unsure of so I can definitely recommend This garage. I have also had a previous Audi TT and a few other cars serviced there in the past.

Gemini Service Centre, Slater Street, Liverpool. Runs parallet to Duke Street.
Used them for years for the company cars & the 2 R Class & GL we have. Absolutely spot on & honest! Just had inlet port shut off motor & inlet manifolds replaced on the R Class & everything done as it should be done. Even sorted out the claim with Warranty Direct.
