Service Reset

Done a search and gone few threads but can't find what i'm looking for. My car has a full dealer service history but the mileage is going up rather quick. Is there a procedure to reset the service indicator should i decide to get the car serviced privately? Thanks in advance

I would guess that your car is a W203, and so the instructions on page 3 are the ones you need. If it's a W204 (the latest version) then page 4 is the one.

Yes. And those servicing will know it.

Not aways the case, some non MB specialists will not reset the service indicator, we took my partners Audi to a local garage for a service and they did not reset that afterwards.

And it isn't always the case that the person wanting to know how to perform the re-set has actually had the servicing work done, or intends to have it done. Just something to do before resell - the re-set that is, the actual service being swerved.

Not in all cases I'll add - but I've seen it such elsewhere.

I am sure some people may try this but there would be no record, invoice or stamp to say that the service had been carried out so a few simple questions would see through such a ruse.
