Sigature in Windscreen

That's what I thought. Seems a bit corny to me. I get an AMG engineer signing an engine that he built but a signature in a windscreen ?

I know the Benz family were upset about the loss of the Benz name from AMGs and Maybachs. Maybe this is just to placate them.

The windscreen stickers have been around for a long time : my dad's 1964 Fintail had one when he bought it new .

I think that's just a sticker...not a real signature.

My 2015 SLK has "G.Daimler" etched on the drivers side low corner of the screen. It doesn't look like a sticker.

The C Class one doesn't look like a sticker either - I had a scratch and it didn't do anything - I think its etched in - for future when you buy a C Class second-hand you'll know if it has a replacement screen (Not sure what that tells you though)

I bought a sticker four years ago, and I would imagine they are still available, as it had a more recent model part no, but can't remember which.

If memory serves ( it has been 45 years since I last saw that car ) the sticker was transparent with black text , so quite similar to the photo at the start of this thread .

I've seen the white ones too , sometimes they quote 'die beste oder nichts' .

I suspect printed like the obscuration bands. And Merc parts will have it on anyway.
