Ski Flap

Hi

I have a 2014 E220CDi Saloon. The rear seat does not incorporate a Ski Flap behind the armrest. Has anyone reto-fitted one or modified the seat back to incorporate one?

In a previous W211, I (well, Ian Walker) used an angle grinder to cut a (small) hatch out the back of the seat in line with the rear armrest to carry fishing rods for my stepson. Cut same size piece from seat back and used velcro to put it back, hiding the hole. There was a piece of trim in the armrest hole that was easily removed. You could not see it if you did not know it was there!

That's encouraging. I am minded to try it. Do you know, is the seat back a welded steel panel?

Not steel, but aluminium. Follow the link above which will show all you should need to know! Amazed it is still there! Let me know how you get on?
