Does anyone know where to get the Haynes manual or similar for the R129............ Halfords want £39 for the Haynes manual which i though was a little pricey , and i could not find one on ebay or a CD version....

I was not aware HAYNES did a manual for the R129?? Maybe its by someone else. What is the exact title and ISBN ?

No Haynes for 'modern' MBs, it's all electronic and only for dealers / rich indies!

When i bought the car a few weeks ago it had in a folder a reciept from Halfords an order for a Haynes Manual for the R129... £39. I will dig it out and get the manual number off of the bill...shame the manual was not still in the car.....although it may be i have not really looked yet....may even be in the boot lol

There isn't a Haynes manual for the 129. There is a technical CD & DVD produced by MB USA or wiring diagram CDs available through the MBOC.

WIS is what you want, though am not advocating dodgy ebay copies.

Dug out the reciept from Halfords.....It was ordered in 1999 so a few years back but it says for " Haynes Manual Book NO: M882 Mercedes 300SL 24v - Halfords Code 999888 £39.95....


Only going on the reciept but if they dont do it will try your other sugestions as i would like to have a go at solving a few minor issues myself,
