SL500 or 500SL

Please could someone enlighten me as to whether or not my car (a March 1994 W129) is a SL 500 or a 500 SL as i'm not sure whether it is badged correctly. Also, was an AMG badge an option or is this incorrect? I would like the car to look as original as possible. I'm presuming the white indicator lenses on the front are correct for this year?

Early R129s were badged as 500SL and from 94' onwards they were all badged with the pre fix "SL" (mild face lift) as that’s when the cars were given half clear/orange front indicator lenses.

So your car is I'm sure a SL500 - However, if your car has the full orange front indicator lenses then it would badged as a 500SL. AMG badge is an after market accessory and would never be done at the factory unless full AMG body kit/alloys were factory ordered/fitted back then.

The AMG badge wasn't present even with the bodykit or wheel /suspension options - it only came with the proper AMG models.

The indicator lenses may have been replaced - it more than likely is a '94MY which makes it an SL500 - the two-tone bodywork was dropped at this point and an easier way to tell (unless this has been resprayed too).

Yes it has the clear/orange indicator lenses and is one colour all over so i think i am right in saying it is a SL500 and it shouldn't have the AMG badge.
