SL500 R230 stalling when pulling off

hi everyone,

my 2002 SL500 doesn't seem to be running right. its drives ok, but when setting off it nearly conks out every time. Today it has completely stalled when puling out from a junction (not very safe!!)

just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and may be able to help?
