Has anybody had problems with the front shocks on a SL500, mine are apparently in need of replacement on a two year old car with 20k miles on the clock.

this sounds way to early. what are the roads like where you drive?
will they be replaced under warranty?
how much are the replacements.

The roads are normal, not many potholes or speed bumps.
MB have offerred and paid 50% of the replacement cost, as the car was out of EU warranty by 3 weeks.
Replacement full cost was £2,442.08 and this was for the rear shocks only.

Since then the consumer electrics battery has gone as well and will need replacing at a cost of £117 plus fitting and vat, again no response from MB UK. Just quoting the party line that EU warranty is two years and only UK dealers offer a third year.

hmmm surely not normal - mines 14 years old and has done 140k on the originals all round.
