SL55 Dip-stick

Readers of my post "smoky SL55" read about the excessive oil in the car. This car does not have a dip-stick it doesn't even provide an electronic reading (only when it gets too low) - how weird is that? I spoke to my local MB dealership and requested a dip-stick, they said that they are only available as a workshop tool! It is not as though there isn't a place for it, but instead of a dip-stick there is this stubby excuse for one. In light of my previous experience this seems more than just a bit silly.

Has anyone found a place to buy SL dip-sticks?

The oil level check does not work?

Are you sure?

Get the car up tp full operating temp (20min road test) then turn it off and wait 5-10 mins.

Then check it on the cluster.

The dipstick is NOT car specific. It has MM measurements on it and is long and cannot be left in the dipstick tube.
