Sl60

why is the ebay ad removed!!

They only last 3 months on ebay

Its a valid point and a general housekeeping fault of members of this forum, which it falls short of compared to other forums like 911uk.com etc

IF peoiple are posting ebay advert links they should also save some of the pictures and post them up seperately, so that the thread can live on once the ebay add has finished... its very frustrating. The Mod's should enforce this more, makes a better forum overall.

rant over ;-)

Not really. This section of the forum is called "Spotted on eBay". It's for posting up things that are for sale and which might be of interest to members. Once the thing is sold, it's sold and is no longer of any interest to man or beast. If, 2 years later, someone wants to debate car specifications then there will be other areas where this can be done or, alternatively, as here then someone can always add to the thread if they feel it needs a further contribution.

Rant over (getting low on nicotine lozenges) ;)

Fair enough but it is still good practice to include a picture if only because some cars (Gemballa SEC for example) come up for sale several times on ebay., useful to keep track, ensure its the same car, and it only takes 30 seconds!

I believe the SL 600 AMG version produced 440bhp with 450BHP possible for the export version.

I got this info from the German AMG Owners Club newsletter on the R129 AMG V12 models:-

The 7.0 AMG engine made 496nhp:-

The 7.3 litre SL73 made 525bhp or 565bhp in Sultan of Brunei spec:-

A very rare little know derivative of the AMG SL's was the SL36 with the 3.6 litre unit from the E36/C36 in 1995:-

The SL600 is a 6ltr V12 and produces 394 bhp and is not an AMG car. The SL 60 AMG is a 6 ltr V8 and it is alledged to produce more than the V12 although the MB official figures state it is less as they didn't want it to overshadow the flagship 600.

I agree with you. The standard 600SL V12 from Mercedes was 394bhp, SL60 was a V8 etc.

However I was talking about the EARLY AMG SL600, as in the AMG tuned version of the SL600 you quote above... i.e the very rare precurser to the SL70 and SL73.... Special order section..

Therefore the below still stands:-

Items on here from eBay vary hugely, and if you are interested, I can point you in the direction of some Douglas Dakota aircraft if you like? I won't be saving the pics, though! More for the individual and their specific interest, I think.

As a 129 owner myself, I admire your passion for them, and I know how fastidious the Germans are about their cars.

I'm sorry but what are you going on about?

It's a two year old thread that's been revived, what interest is it to anyone other than what prices were like then?

And how do you suppose the Mods 'enforce' the issue more?

People post these links on the off-chance that the cars spotted may be of interest to other members.
