SLC Trim

Failing miserably with Mercedes trying to order parts. I'm looking to change my trim from the Aluminium fabric to either Ash Black or Piano black but they tell me they either need a reg or chassis number from an SLC that had this option fitted so they can order it. The first is mine with Aluminium look and the second is how I want it to look. I think I have the center piece and ash tray coming from a breakers so I'm looking for the trims that go round the door handle. I've been told the trim on the doors is the same as the earlier SLK 172 ?

Remove panels, apply vinyl wrap in piano/ash black and refit! Job done.

I initially looked into doing this along with hydro dipping but have decided to keep my Aluminium trim as it is and have a second set. I have the center piece and ash tray from a breaker for less than I was quoted to wrap or hydro dip them so just need the door trims now. Found plenty on ebay so might go that way and get a mate to piano black them for me

I think I spent around a tenner on vinyl and some time, plus I can pull it all off to go back to silver trim again. Please post pictures when you're finished, looking forward to seeing it.

Afraid I lost the use of my left arm in a motorbike RTA and as much as I'm a stubborn git I doubt me and wrapping will get on well lol

I'm waiting on the delivery this afternoon, they've already sent me one center piece but whoever took it out broke the two tabs off where it fits under the arm rest. Fingers crossed they haven't done that again

The ash tray and center trim arrived and no broken tabs, they are Ash Black so I need to find matching door trims or someone who has an SLC with the Ash black trim fitted who will let me use their reg so I can order them from Mercedes. Has to be a car with manual seats so no extra cut outs in the trim

During my search I found a 2016 SLC 300 with Ash Black trim and manual seats.
It is also still on its original reg so I bit the bullet and used the reg to order
the 2 door trims from MB. Photo of the car I found

Is that black ash or piano black? Looks very shiny for ash black?

Yes its Ash Black. I think they are both as shiny as each other tbh, the pattern in the Ash trim is very faint which is good for me

Been a slight change of plan.
I cancelled the order for the Ash Black door handle trims.
I found a pair on ebay with a brushed Aluminium finish and got them both for £30, one has very light scratches but no problem to me.
Took all the trim to my mates car repair shop yesterday and he's going to Piano Black them for me in the next week.
Very happy as I've got the second set of trim for a total of £135

Can you get the reg or VIN of the donor car from the breaker so that you can then order from Merc ?

I guess but I went Piano Black in the end, post 11
