Slightly over priced SL500...

He says that there are only four that colour......I wonder if he's ever given any thought as to why....

I can think of two others.

A member on this forum owns a yellowstone R129 SL500 , and there was another one (slightly damaged) on eBay a while back.

He's going to struggle to sell a YELLOW car no matter what the price, there is a reason that there are only 4 in the UK

Close, its mine and its actually Porsche Speed Yellow rather than Yellowstone and in real life as opposed to pictures it really is rather nice although not to everyones taste, but Porsche seem to sell rather a lot in this colour.
His price certainly is optimistic though, I paid thousands less for mine which is close to immaculate and has half the miles but equally I wouldn't sell it even for his asking price!

Hi Steve,

I meant to ask the other day about the colour on your R129.

When you say it is Porsche Speed Yellow - when was it painted that colour? Was it not yellow from new or something else?

Will

Hi Will
Initially it was down to be a fern metallic green or something similar but eventually left the factory as the Porsche Speed Yellow which was done as a Designo special.
I found this out when I had a couple of chips done after I bought it.
I have always presumed the original "buyer" lost his nerve and defaulted when he thought about what he had done or eventually saw his "purchase".
The car was built in 1998 but not registered until March 99 so I assume it sat around a while awaiting someone wanting a yellow car for £88500!

The car is in Northern Ireland, We tend to pay a little extra as there is not as much choice / competition. but it does seem a little highly priced though.

Having moved from a yellow (I always insisted it was zoe gold!) Alfa spider, I now realise it was maybe the colour and not the car that people stared at.....

Ah well, back to the safety of a nice normal dark blue estate.

..Steve
