Just purchased a '06 SLK 280 in Cubanite Silver metallic, with Tobacco brown nappa leather seats.
The drive home with the roof down ... heated seats, airscarf ...not a care in the world!!! Long drive home got darker and chillier so stopped to put up roof. OMG how things changed from thereon the noise from roof creaking etc. terrible!!!
Have booked in with Mercedes to investigate ... has anyone out there experienced the same??
Still think car is brilliant and excited about driving it everytime even in this changeable UK weather!!

I had an SLK200 (54-plate) for a year.. couldn't get used to how much the whole car creaked.. that wasn't the reason for changing it though...
I also had one on loan for a day recently (an 08 model) and it still creaked a lot but not as badly.

There are a number of TSB's for this type of thing which are easy to carry out. The only concern for you might be....is your car still within the original manufacturers warranty or did it come with a what's called Tier 1 or Tier 2?

With the original warranty it would cover seals/squeaks/rattles etc but the Tier 1 and 2 does not.

Hope that helps.
Portzy.
