SL63 AMG
2012 Mercedes Benz SLK 63 AMG spied for first time

Undergoing testing near the Nürburgring, the prototype features SLS AMG-inspired styling, a high performance braking system, quad tailpipes, and ten-spoke alloy wheels.

Under the hood, power will likely be provided by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 with potentially up to 544 PS (400 kW / 537 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, as already seen in the recently announced S 63 AMG and CL 63 AMG with the same engine. This would allow the compact roadster to easily eclipse the performance figures posted by its 360 PS (265 kW / 355 hp) predecessor. However, Mercedes will most likely cap power output like the outgoing R171, but undoubtedly tuners will be quite anxious to get their wrenches into it and unlock the AMG Performance Package within at 420kW (571 PS / 563 bhp) and 900Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque.

I like that

However, I really hate the way the auxiliary aerials seem to be an afterthought and stuck on the roof/boot as if the designers forgot about it.

At least on my W220 it sits at the top edge of the rear screen - almost discrete

Its most likely the same part as your one, remember that its location on the picture above is the only location it could be at (apart from above the RVM that would look even worst) due to the folding roof.

They should be better drivers - fancy riding the curb :D

Blimey ... 500+ bhp in an SLK - that should be fun.

Unfortunately the turbos will muffle the exhaust though, compared to the current SLK55 :(

Thankfully it appears to be devoid of the Halfords-style body addenda they decided to tack onto the current SLK55. I do hope it stays that way - they can always offer the fripperies as options for those who feel the need.

That looks like it will be serious fun. I love massive engines in tiny cars, so much better than the other way round.

I've just come back from the 'ring and that was one of a few mercs that we saw going round track.

No need to worry about the noise, you can still here that nice v8 burble!
