Sweeeeet motor.

That's one funky exhaust system, I wonder if the likes of Kwikfit could replace that

Very Nice

Gorgeous car

But for the £250k odd

You could just about have one of the new SL 65 612 bhp conv and a big S65 612 bhp 4 door for when it's not sunny and granny wants a lift :D.

Drools quietly in a corner talking to the pixies and telling them that I will have one one day.

Back in the real world, I notice that that a lot of the styling cues, particularly the front view, will be carried over to the new SLK which should make it quite a looker

Sorry, but this car does not impress me at all.

Before I am shot, it is because:

1) It has arrived a number of years later than planned.

2) It only has a few more horsepower than a standard top end Mercedes.

3) The Formula 1 styling cues (especially on the nose of the car) are contrived and executed in the same way that a MaxPower reader might make his Peugeot 206 look like a WRC car. Why should Mercedes get away with this when MaxPower readers would probably get slated for trying the same styling tactic?

4) My main reason for not liking it is not a Mercedes reason. It is because it is just the newest in a succession of pointless and overstyled hyper cars in the ilk of the Veyron, Koennig and F50. I bet anyone money that this car will appeal mostly to the Puerto Banus, Arab and Pebble Beach set. i.e. A statement like a gold diamond encrusted Rolex. Bet the Beckhams get one!

I bet they'd have a bloody good go, and then bring to your attention that the tyres and shocks could do with replacing......

Looks like it's got 2 lots of wiper blades, maybe the usuall one is'nt enough at high speed?

A Bit to "bling bling". expect '50 cent' to have one soon (obviously on 20"s)
Mind you if one was offered free i wouldnt say no.

250 odd grand and the engine and axle setup come uninstalled !!! :p

Also it came in over weight and bearing in mind McLaren developed it in conjunction with Mercedes, they must be well miffed. i.e. It does not say much for their F1 endevours.

I like the Merc surfboard on the bonnet, nice touch. I'd have one though:rock:

This can't be the MB forum, I have cried with laughter twice now this evening!

Spot on re surfboard, perhaps they will start appearing around Newquay soon!

You know something, I am going to get one of them and strap it to the front of the Aston....how chic and...... well Tate Modern.

No need, just get one & I'll paint it for ya . . . One I did earlier . . .

I hate to say it but I am wrong. The nose is not a frivolous styling feature.

Most people know that one of the rules for an upmarket car is that it must be able to carry a set of golf clubs. Mercedes (being radical), are trying to appeal to the younger generation by allowing all their cars to carry a surfboard somewhere within the car.

I think this might catch on and applaud them for it!

Hip, hip hooray!

Hip, hi.......
