Smaller S-Belt to bypass Air-Con on a M113 ?

Hi, is it possible to use a shorter S-Belt on a M113 V8 engine to bypass the air-con compressor ? Reason being, my ac compressor has the "rattle of death" (air con not blowing cold either). Genuinly at the moment I cant sanction a costly repair due to financial constraints, so would using a shorter S-belt on my m113 (5.0 v8) alow me to bypass the aircon compressor ? if it can be done, can anyone help me and let me know which belt to use please. It looks like I might have found the solution to my problem. I was using the search function on a couple of other MB forums and came up with this part
6PK2310 V belt, which can be used on a m113 v8 to bypass the AC compressor.
