I've just had a call from the named driver on my insurance policy to tell me that my second car has been involved in an accident.

The car is in my name as a 2nd car on my insurance with the diver involved in the accident as a named driver on the policy.

Even though it wasn't the named drivers fault and the other car driver has admitted responsibility will it still effect my renewal?

HELP please. I need to know whether I should ask the named driver on my policy for some extra ££££

and does he need to declare that as a claim when renewing, even if he had protected no claims?

It might, even no-fault claims can increase the premium! You could try asking your insurance company although they can be slippery devils when it comes to details.

This is how the accident happened:

My car being driven though roadworks on country lane @ 25-30mph.
Girl travelling in the opposite direction at over 30mph suddenly sees the cones and some temp traffic lights which weren't on and didn't need to be on but panics and slams on the brakes anyway. The bloke following behind driving at over 30mph doesn't prepare himself for the car infront to suddenly lock on a clear straight road for no reason and clips the car infornt and swerves into the side of my car.

Bet he's gone home tonight blaming the girl in front but his wife will still win the argument by saying that he was going to fast and driving to close!!

And his wife will be right (dammit!)
