#~(%, $/*]~ and }*$$!

Some little toe-rag broke the rear quarter-light of my SE in the driveway last night and had been trying to get the brand new Kenwood head unit out. I'd left the face on it (stupid)! I'd also left the removal tools in the door pocket (even more stupid) but he didn't find them. Luckily, he left the head unit and just nicked 3 CDs - one of which is hard to find in the UK.

I couldn't believe how much glass there was in such a small window. He must have missed with his first go and dented a bit of aluminium trim but I think I can knock that out. The good (?) news is that a replacement window is only about a tenner and it looks reasonably easy to fit.

Why do people do these things? He'd have got precious little for the head unit even if he'd managed to nick it.

Having experienced similar, I find there is no level some peoples stupidity can sink too.

Glad that the repairs are not too costly, just the inconvenience.

Time for alarms, CCTV and a booby trap!

Malc: sorry to hear of your misfortune and glad to hear the low-lifes didn't get your head unit.

As for the CDs, can I suggest you burn copies (or backups) onto CDRs, or get someone to do it for you. That way you won't lose your original discs.

Sorry about your car. Don't let the little scrote ruin your weekend.

As a former Police officer, I would think it's to fund some kind of addiction. I don't mean to make it sound like that's what Cops do, come on, you know what I mean.

If it was a midless act of vandalism, then the excuse would be "there's nothing else to do".

Oh, and of course your lucky the low life did'nt hurt himself in the process, which could really have cost you when you found yourself in court.

To be honest, if it was easy, and without family commitments etc, I would leave this country that I love and go to Australia.

That's my thoughts for the moment anyway.
