Sorry all, just have to blow off steam!
Thought I would check my bank account this morning only to find the some ********!!!!!!!!!***********!!!!!!!! has stolen £1500 from my account on the 18th. Its showing as transfers to Coral betting.
Have told Coral and obviuosly my bank but this has really P'd me off big time!!

Now have to wait for the fraud teams in each company to sort things out however Coral have already told me the name that is on the card on their system is not mine and it is 100% fraud no argument.

Bad news dude ......

I'm sure you will get it all back , probably just in time for Christmas !!

Thats the best way to look at it, you've just hidden the money away for Christmas, by then you will have forgotton about it, and when it is returned , it will be a welcome surprise !! :)

I never have that sort of problem as my bank account never has any money in it :o

Mark - that's awful. I can imagine how you feel. I had a similar thing happen to me after my bag was stolen a number of years ago. You will get the money back and it shouldn't take long - but you shouldn't be in this position at all.

Good luck chuck;)

Sorry to hear that Mark. Hope it works out

Steve

That has happened to me last year. Found out that my account has been used on four occasions to pay Transport for London (nearly 500pounds). I think it was the debit card they sent to me because I never received it. I was told by Halifax that the card could be used straight away once sent without any activation by the account holder. Halifax paid the money back into the account after 5 weeks but still they refused to send my debit card on a registered post, so I asked them to send it to my local branch then collected it myself.

If the horse came in do you get back more than the £1500?

thats what the wife said! it was used in an online poker room:crazy:

I saw a news article this week about people retrieving cut up credit cards from a Bank's dustbin.
That meant the thief had the full card details including the security number on the back.

My Father asked this exact question when his own credit card was used in the same manner! The answer was that the winnings are paid back to the card up to a certain amount and over that amount alternative methods are used. If it's fraud then the winnings as well as the losses are kept by the card company, I mean in the end they're having to pay for the losses in the first place it makes sense that they get to keep the winnings if there are any! ;)

I absolutely destroy any cards and put the bits in different bins ;)

The bit to look out for these days is the chip, which is very difficult to break and could be used in a blank card with chip-holder, sometimes enough to get a transaction through if you know the pin and the card is still valid.
