Due to the great time we had last year, I am proposing a 'Get-to-Gether' in Hamble, Southampton on the 26 or 27 May 2007. This is the location: http://local.live.com/default.aspx?...lvl=15&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=4326245

(Hope it works) And here is the Venue: http://www.oyster-quay.co.uk/

Sorry the site looks a bit out of date, but the have been having a change of management lately and I think it's been put on the 'back-burner', so to speak.

This is the Marina Link: http://www.mdlmarinas.co.uk/marinas/mercury_yacht_harbour/ Details of how to get there etc.

I have put the 26th. (Sat) or 27th (Sun), either suits me fine.

For people who want to stay over, there is Camping/Caravan facilities right next door to the carpark. On that note I will be able to accomodate 2 people, (I live about a Mile away), preferably a couple as it is a double bed in a spare room. But hey, it's up to you. This of course is offered FOC.

It's still about 9 weeks away, but I will get the ball rolling.

I live in the centre of southampton :) would love to head along if its an open invite.... see some nice shiny merc's!

I would be interested, will try and get the Saturday off work (just in case we vote for the Sat)

Not promising anything though! But would be nice to come along!

I think I/we will decide at the end of April, plenty of time. Although personally I think most will go for the Sunday.

Thanks for the interest Gina.

That would be good if it was a Sunday, never been to Southampton before either! :)

Just an observation that might affect this gtg - that's Spring Bank holiday weekend;)

I'm sorry, didn't even realise there was one. But anyway, I'm going to leave as is, even less reason to not attend. It would be a new one on me - 'Sorry, couldn't make it because of the long weekend' -

So that being the case, I think we should go for the 27th, Sunday.

ps. Thanks Pammy for the info. :)

A lot of people go away for a week when there's a bank holiday as you only need to take 4 days off work rather than 5. That week also happens to be half-term for most schools, so those with kids can ONLY go away then.

We'll be at at a 7 day long dog agility show which always runs then, for exactly those reasons.

Not trying to change the GTG date - just explaining! :)

So, is this still going ahead? Or is the bank holiday putting everyone off?

Very unlikely I can make a bank holiday. Any other weekend and I'm almost certainly up for it.
Mercs and boats at the same time....heaven :bannana:

I'm pretty flexible with dates on weekends, especially Sundays, if anyone has another date as a suggestion? Before of after the BH?

I can do any date I think, BH is fine too....;)

Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated.

I say we keep it to the 27th of May, Sunday. At least for most of us there is no work the next day, so no rush to get back because of, 'Bloody hell, work tomorrow'!

As far as number go, I don't think we need loads of people, I find if there is lots of people, no matter what it starts to get a 'cliquey' anyway. So with that in mind 8 to 10 people is a good number, and all able to fit around one table. Looks like we already have at least 4 or 5 people already, each with a motor. :)

So for all those interested in coming please just add your name. Thanks.

I'll come!!! :)

Can we stay overnight at this place? As it's a long drive from me!

Gina, there is a Camping place right next door, a couple of B&B's in the village (HAMBLE), failing which, as previously stated there is a spare bed & floorspace at my house about a mile away. :)

Count me in, I'll have to book somewhere overnight though, but not a problem!;)

Thanks for you offer! I'll look into it and let you know, cheers!

Also as a 'Maybe'. A friend of mine, Caralyn, (sponsorship), her husband works for T. Purslow locally, maybe, just maybe, I could get him to bring something interesting for us, Merc or Chrysler..... ;)
