No, nothing to do with Star trek :rolleyes:

If one were to add a 10mm spacer would the effect be the same as changing the ET from 37 to 27?
 
I've been reading up on offset and spacers. Yes, adding a spacer reduces your offset and therefore pushes your wheel outwards creating a wider track.

Yes, ET is measured in mm.

ET stands for the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as 'insertion depth'.
