A Speaker cover for the CL ??

I need a New Driver 's Side Speaker Cover for the CL as in the Past someone has broken the Clips and tried to Glue them back on !! and it does not fit properly.

You would think that would be an easy thing to do ?

Went to Brooklands. They looked it up. No longer available ( Which I find Hard to Believe) So he very kindly looked to see if any other dealer had one gathering dust. Success MB Portsmouth ( Olly Land ) Spoke to Graham gave him part No just to check that it was the correct Colour Alpaca Grey. Yes everything checked out.

Received said Cover totally wrong colour Dark Grey instead Light Grey. Checked part No on the back of both covers identical !!!

Where to go from here ?? Any idea's

Some parts on 215 are now discontinued which is a shame. Have it sprayed by a local shop in correct colour. It's not the part that you otherwise use/touch so should last you for a while unless broken again. Ask the shop to use matte lacquer so it matches the other one.

There will be a 10 digit part number and then a 4(?) Digit colour code after the part number. You need to match both. Any dealer should know this.

Yes the part numbers have been checked and are coming up as Alpaca Grey. The one I received was Orion Grey

A215 727 0488 Colour Code 7E94

I found one in Stuttgart, phoned them up they can't send it to the UK

Alex, yes that seems the only solution.

Orion Grey should have 7D43 on it. If it's not printed on the part, it will at least be on the sticker on the bag.

If both have 7E94 on them then something very weird is happening.

Peter, worst case - get 2 new covers in any colour, then get them painted and fitted, so no difference between the doors. If you remember, I've done this with all plastic interior parts in my ML during the D:Class headlining retrim. Turned out perfect. The shop used paint for plastic with baking and all so very durable and still OEM looking. Don't forget the matte lacquer, else they will turn out looking a bit too shiny.

Many thanks Alex. Did David do the painting ?

No, wasn't David. It was a bit of a logistics nightmare to get all the bits across to him and back (too many small parts) so I did it locally with the shop that resprayed the ML. Was much easier this way. If you struggle to find someone reliable locally, give me a shout and I will put you in touch with them (they are in Milton Keynes). Or if you want, I can get these covers from a local dealer for you, get them colour coded and send back to you when done? No problem for me either way.

Honestly you two , this is what the forum is all about !

Good work !

Alex many thanks for your very kind offer. As Howard has said that's why this FORUM is the Best.

I'm getting the one that Olly ordered for me originally and I can get my local body shop to colour code the speakers. Thanks again.
