Speaker/sub upgrades W211 E55

Hello All

I have an E55 W211 Which has the harmon kardon system. The sub shall we say is not really coping well with my style of music and the speakers are struggling a touch to.
Is there a way of upgrading the sub and speakers so that it still works with the original Harmon Kardon set up? Is it fibre optic?
I know in the E39 M5 I had which had an amplified system I couldn't do anything with it
anyone done anything?

My understanding was it was just comms that used fibre optic.

Signal to the speakers should be regular copper wires.

That was the case on my last E55K albeit without Karman Hardon.

In your case, you can just upgrade the speakers and subwoofer as you will have the cabling for the subwoofer.
