It's not the best of roads, but I'm not sure I'd call the A22 a "narrow country lane" - or maybe you need a new navigator! She keeps track of signs and speeds, especially those narrow country lanes heading to Eastbourne from London and the variable speeds.

Where I live it’s often middle aged lady drivers who are the most aggressive.I generally think there’s a massive issue with drivers, everyone seems to be so stressed and with so much pent up anger.
I’ve had grown men threaten me (while on my bike) in london because I was too slow turning right or too slow setting off from a traffic light. I mean honestly?
I think the same impatience seeps into driving speeds - hence the limit is seen as a minimum target.
I actually feel sorry for those that have so much road rage, can just imagine how stressful their lives must be!!

It’s a bit as though they assume that I should give way because I’m a gentlemen in the same way as they would sashay through a door that I have opened for them.
It’s quote odd.
Well, I wasn’t going to say but…We get that a lot where we are ... usually driving large 4x4s.
Well, I wasn’t going to say but…
Yesterday I was at the top of a long terraced street in the village and i saw a small Range Rover at the bottom, about 250 metres away, it was only wide enough for one of us so I flashed them on, not much happened for a bit so gave another quick flash. The RR drove up, as it approached I raised my hand in anticipation of a similar gesture.
She pulled alongside, I could see her quite clearly as my SUV was a little higher than hers, she only bloody blanked me!
How we laughed.
Id have made her out of principle and just sat there until she did......The roads round us are single track with passing places. Endless fun when we're towing the caravan behind the Vito - it's about 5 miles to the nearest main road. Last year I had to reverse the outfit about 50 metres round a bend (my wife walked back and talked me round on the phone as I had no visibility at all) because a sour faced woman in a Discovery refused to back up half that distance to a passing place. We weren't in any hurry so took our time - safety firstShe'd have been on her way in under a minute if she'd reversed.
I had the same situation very many years ago when towing. The woman claimed she wasn’t able to reverse. When I offered to do it for her she said it was her husband’s car and he wouldn’t let anyone else drive it. I somehow resisted the temptation to comment that I was surprised he let her drive. My extended mirrors helped me reverse round two bends, whilst my wife walked back to stop anyone else overshooting the passing place. The roads round us are single track with passing places. Far more vehicles and far far more incompetent drivers. What's new? The motorway speed limit has been 70mph since the 60's.. So what's changed? Have cars become less safe or have brakes gotten worse?
Good point.Isn't it weird that fastest you can legally go in a car, you're not taught any skills!.
I can just about cope with reversing my caravan, but I also have a small camping trailer that I simply can't see in any of my mirrors in normal driving, even with extended mirrors. I can sometimes see it in the rear view mirror if it bounces over a pothole, but if I'm reversing, by the time I can see it in my side mirrors it's already too late to correct the steering angle, with it being so short. On the odd occasion I've had to reverse any distance with it, I've found it easier just to unhitch it! I'm thinking I might fit some kind of flag to it so that I can see where it is.I had the same situation very many years ago when towing. The woman claimed she wasn’t able to reverse. I've just realised - this will be so much easier if ever I get around to completing the factory reversing camera installation. Just need a couple of bits of loom now I think.I can just about cope with reversing my caravan, but I also have a small camping trailer that I simply can't see in any of my mirrors in normal driving, even with extended mirrors. Edit: Sorry - I've taken this way off topic now.
I have a small ( Erde 142 ) trailer that I use for taking stuff to the dump or carrying things I wouldn’t want to put in the car .I can just about cope with reversing my caravan, but I also have a small camping trailer that I simply can't see in any of my mirrors in normal driving, even with extended mirrors. In my experience of these people, they often stick at 42mph everywhere:Whilst Speed limits are not the final target, its really annoying when on a 60mph limit single lane that you are behind someone for 10 miles who is quite happy sitting at 42mph. Happens to me quite often, most recently this weekend.
