Recieved 'Notice of intention to prosecute' this morning. Had a pretty pciture of me taken on tower bridge in the very early hours on sunday morning. Apparently the speed limit is 20mph and was doing 41mph. However i cannot remember seeing any cameras, camera signs or speed limit signs there. After doing some research, turns out that they have the SPECS there and they do work.

I am sure that i have done more that 20mph over the bridge in the past so was quite surprised when I recieved this.

Anyone been caught there?

I think its time to get a camera detector (and drive slow of course), would these be detected on such devices?

What a bummer :( Sorry about this. Is the speed limit 20MPH all the time on the bridge now? are They within their 14 day period? does the picture show you in the driving seat? I suggest your next port of call is here

It might not help you get out of it, but it will ensure that that b@st@rd Kens minions have as much grief extracting the stealth tax out of you as you can provide them with...

good luck ;)

After 24 years with a clean license, Yesterday I too got a 'notice of intended prosecution'

I remember flashing a Gatso and was clocked at 39 in a 30 limit.

But I did not get a pretty picture of the rear of my ML, should this have been included with the notice?

wobbly

I'm pretty sure that Tower Bridge has had a 20 limit for at least the last 4 years maybe even longer :(

On a similar note to changes of speed limit, there are some dual carriageways around my locality that for years were national limit, 70mph, however for the last couple of years they have been reclassified at 30mph.

They are SPECS cameras, measure average speed across the bridge and went on test in December 2003, and live a month later. Oh and any money raised goes straight to the treasury not the local police so it has absolutely nothing to do with any safety partnership, just another tax on the unwary motorist.

Must be some kind game as I got one of these too today!

I was apparently doing 37mph in a 30mph.

I don't even remember seeing it. It says "Mobile Enfocement" in brackets, what does that mean?

I had 3 points put on my license in Jan 2001. When are these supposed to come off as I think the total of 6 points might affect my insurance quite a bit!

abbos hi about the points,it takes 4 years to clear and even then you have to send the licence with a fee to clear it,can u believe that!!!!,these guys just want money, money and more money, why charge to clear the points.

The points are only counted for 'totting up' for 3 years.

Legally the points are on the licence for only 3 years and after 4 years you can have them cleared off your licence by paying a fee of £19.

However insurance companies like to know your convictions in the last five years.

I too had 3 points in April 2001 which i could clear off in april this year.

I would expect they will remove the spent points at the same time as they are adding the new ones without any charge to you
