Speedo Stuck at 20

I have a 2002 CLK320
It has been running great, but yesterday I noticed the speedo showing about 60mph, when I know I was doing less than 40
Today, I was driving along and noticed the speedo stuck at about 20 when moving and stationary
I have tried turning off and back on again, but it doesn't move
Even with the ignition off, it is showing 20
Any help anywhere please

Give the binnacle a bang and see if it resets. It's probably just sticking.

Tried that Dieselman, but still not working

Any other suggestions out there?

I also must add that the milometer is working fine and the digital display in km is working fine

Apparently the speedo needed "Re-Calibrating"

Wherever that means?????

Maybe it means use a bigger hammer ?

Stuck at 0

Anybody any more ideas apart from the big hammer suggestion

Could this be a problem with a sensor and even the speedo itself?

Big and expensive problem???
