Hmm, what a mission today.
It seems that my CDI just loves to fall apart, I noticed a boost leak, well heard it actually, by the time I got home, got it on the ramps & then dropped the undertray, the boost hose from the Turbo to the IC has a 3" split just on the elbow.
Merc love to use these pre-swaged hoses ( which don't seem to be very good at sealing ) as they easily came off when I undone the spring clips.
Is this a common fault on the CDI ? I've had to use some old boost hose from another car & 2 splice rings to get me going again.
Does anyone do aftermarket jobbies that are hard piped ? with flexy bellows ? or likewise ?
Also took an opportunity to clean the turbo compressor cover etc, the inlet hose wasn't tight & allowed oil to leak from the recirc system, all a poor show really
