Sporty Tuning

Hi , Does anyone know what
488 sporty tuning (с 01.10.1996) from the VIN specs on my 320 CLK
actually means.

I've just used the incredibly useful Russian website thingy with my chassis number and I too have 'sporty tuning' (which is option 488) on my 2001 CLK Avantgarde.

Similarly, I'm baffled as to what this means. Anyone know?

I've also discovered I've got a Bose sound package, which is nice!

The avantgarde model differed (amongst other things) from the Elegance in that it had 'Sports suspension' as standard. However, this was offered on the elegance also as a no cost item. As far as I am aware (I had an elegance with sports suspension) is that all that differed in this particular regard was slightly shorter and stiffer springs.
