Spring compressor in Newport/Cardiff/Bristol area

Hello,

Would anyone be willing to lend me or allow me into their workshop to use an appropriate coil spring compressor for a W209 front strut?

I have only basic claw type compressors and they are not safe on this spring due to its size and heavy preload.

Front suspension? Remove the strut and take it to a garage with the replacement parts.

Thank you for the suggestion. I prefer to do my own work, if I am unable to find someone with the appropriate equipment I will likely buy my own, as a floor standing hydraulic press can be had for £80.

Did you manage to sort this, I ask because I am in the same position and pondering a purchase of some tooling if I can't hire or borrow the proper Klann type tool. If you bought a tool, which did you buy.

I took the struts off my W203 and had the local garage fit the new springs. They charged half an hour’s labour.
